KB horse brass - popular - Industries - The Waggoner - An engraved brass depicting two heavy horses in tandom pulling a laden cart,  these were the hauliers of the day, hired to take goods from the farm to the railway stations or to market in the towns. On very steep hills extra horsses would be stabled at the bottom to help the loaded waggons up the hill, sometimes known as Cock Horses, (To ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross). These horses would be attached to the front of the horse and carts, help pull the load up the hill and then, often without human intervention, walk themselves back down the hill to wait for the next laod. Stamped KB on the back, can be plated in nickel or chrome.
